Shionogi & Co., Ltd., in collaboration with the Global Antibiotic Research & Development Partnership, has agreed to collaborate with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Kenya on a project aiming to facilitate the introduction of cefiderocol, a treatment for serious Gram-negative bacterial infections in adults with limited treatment options, in the country. Shionogi and GARDP submitted to the Kenyan Ministry of Health a Letter of Intent and a project Concept Note, which were subsequently accepted.
